Building Thoreau's Cabin May 17 2009

1242591438816On July 4, 1845 Henry David Thoreau went into the Massachusetts woods where he remained for two years, two months and two days, living along the shore of Walden Pond in a humble 10'x15' cabin. The cabin cost Thoreau about $28.12 to build and consisted of boards, refuse shingles, old brick, lime, hair and a variety of second hand material. In fact it's so simple and elegant you could build it yourself with this complete list of materials.  [Via Materialicious]
