Adam Forepaugh and Sells Brothers Great Shows Consolidated. This circus poster shows a rhinoceros attacking a hippopotamus. Circa 1898. The two animals were displayed as part of the traveling circus.
The poster reads: "A huge full grown male hippopotamus, the only mature specimen on exhibition anywhere, and the only living mammoth two horned east indian rhinoceros in captivity. These two wonderful animals are the most rare and valuable wild beasts now on exhibition and represent a greater cash value than many entire menageries. This show alone is able to own and exhibit such marvelous features."
