This fruit crate label was used on Congdon Refrigerated Apples, c. 1940s: 'Congdon Refrigerated Apples. Produce of U.S.A. Volume 1 U.S. Bushel. Grown & Packed by Congdon Orchards, Inc. Yakima, Wash.' Crate labels were a frequent means of marketing fruit and vegetable packer brands at the turn of the century.
